Upper Hunter Energy Park
About UHEP
The Upper Hunter Energy Park (UHEP; formerly known as Kyoto Energy Park) is focussed on the development of a wind farm in the Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia, approximately 12 km from the town of Scone.
The Project Site is located on Mountain Station, a private landholding situated along Bunnan Road in Owens Gap. The Project is strategically located to make use of over 10 years of climatic data indicating the site’s suitability for wind farm development.
66 kV Overhead Line
Review of Environmental Factors (REF)
The Upper Hunter Energy Park (UHEP) is proposing a 66 kV overhead line to connect the project to the Ausgrid electricity network at Scone.
The proposed alignment has been informed by detailed environmental, archaeological and technical investigations, guiding the design to avoid environmentally and archaeologically sensitive areas where practicable.
The Review of Environmental Factors (REF) is now available for public exhibition. Find more information here, or go straight to the REF.
About Us
Since 2022, the development, construction and operation of the Project have been owned by Maven Renewable Energy Pty Ltd Australia, a NSW-based business. The project is coordinated by YZ, a Hunter-based advisory services business to the renewable energy sector.
Community Benefits
We believe that the flow-on benefits to communities of long-term electricity from renewable sources bring sustainable and better economic, health, environmental and social outcomes. The development of the Upper Hunter Energy Park is hoped to make a real difference, with measurable benefits to both the environment and the local community.
